The Official "What Should I Spend Money On?" Thread [Merged 10-6]

The first two questions you need to ask yourself are: how much money can I spend and how much power do you want with that amount of money in consideration.

tell you the truth i'd buy a pocket logger and some type of fuel controller (apexi) and then with the left over find a used intercooler set up and maybe sit on the rest LOL

I already have a front mount intercooler, I'am just wanting atleast 300-350hp DD I know I need to update my cam's and I was going to with crower's, I also want to get new piston's and rod's as well. I know that's over the $1,000 mark but I'am gonna save some more money, once I get my pocketlogger and software what else would be good for a 420a wideband?, apexi neo? thnx for the help guy's

I was paid yesterday and now have $700 to work with and I really don't know what to do next to my car. I have installed APEXi N1 down-pipe and catback along with a K&N FIPK. I am still wanting "the most bang for my buck" type stuff so what should I get next? (Keep in mind I only have $700 to work with and dont want to blow it all in one place if I can help it.)

Thanks
Matt

Hard IC piping. You could buy an IC pipe kit off ebay for 100ish then just make your own. Or you just could get a front mount with piping for a couple 100 off of ebay. BOV for about 200. MBC for about 50. Boost gause for around 100. Then you still have some money to play with.

Invest it, save for college, save for a house so you can have a nice garage to put your car in when it hails.

haha. nicely done. but we all know thats not going to happen. my favorite is when people say "im not going to mod my car" or "im going to wait till my warranty expires to start modding." Never happens.

HAHA I got my car a little over a month ago and I said I was not going to mod it... I have 3 things on the way this week and have next week planned already... ROFL :talon:

You know, you could try to follow Nekoni's advise but it almost never works. I keep saying I should sell my car and stop buying parts for it and get a house of my own. But everyweek I'll see a new mod that I "need" and poof. There goes the down on a house.

I never said I wouldn't modify my car... I always told myself I would never do one specific modification; boost controller.

I've been sticking to it for a little while now, it's kept life pretty simple.

You know what's a good bang for the buck IMO? Suspension, so underrated by so many people. My typical street setup would be Eibach pro-kit springs, Koni Yellow shocks/struts, poly bushings, new bushings, Spherical Bushings, Spherical Bushings, Spherical Bushings. Match your sway bars (front and rear), a good alignment, some nice meats all around. Man, go around your car and replace ANY wheel bearings, ball joints, or anything that is wearing out.

That, or here's a good cheap thing to do as well, brake system. Street use, I use Axxis brakes and I love them, steel braided brake lines, brembo blank rotors, here's a big thing, GOOD BRAKE FLUID! RBF600 is all I use. There's better, but it's not as easy to find or as cheap in most cases (which, Motul really isn't cheap anyway I guess).

What's a fast car if it can't handle its own power?

So I am stuck with a few choices. I am receiving my irs stimulus check in a few weeks and not to sure what to buy. I am looking at coil overs, maybe D2s or Megan Racing, or I could buy a maf translators and meth injection. Also looking at the rm sway bars. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Here is list of my mods...
16g
650cc injectors
255 fuel pump
Fuel Lab Fuel Pressure Regulator
Fuel Lab fuel filter
3" down pipe with cut out
Ported oem manifold
Fmic
Dsm chip stage 3
safc2

You could run over to a few junk yards and look for a 99 Eclipse and get the head lights, the tail lights, the bumper covers, and some other upgraded parts to put on your 95 Talon. You could probably get away with all this at different places for less than 100-200$

I did the 99 eclipse conversion but then decided to turn it back into a talon, but I kept the 99 headlights. I was thinking about spraying a yellow tint over them. Not to sure if I will like it.

I honestly think after a week of having yellow tint on your lights you will not like them at all. I'm trying to find a 99 Eclipse rear filler panel :( All the yards around here are missing one.
