Wtf is an Evo 3 GT?

It's the original chinese knockoff and was formally sold by some well known vendors like RRE in the distant past.
RRE's Eclipse New Products (scroll about 3/4 down)
You can tell it apart from genuine MHI since it literally says "EVO 3 GT" on the compressor housing in raised letters.
It's also a point of much contention about ebay turbo's being junk/great. The biggest difference is it came with a ported housing and 34mm WG flapper 'stock' but in the end it's still a knockoff

He's a member. His new car looked sooooo much better. He got a 97 gst with a lot of work done. Has receipts from RRE. Tastefully lowered and pretty nice wheels. But . . . he replaced his stock wing with an aluminum wing and his front end with a bomex. So I traded a MBC for his stock front end. Same color as my car.

Probably has a turbochargers.com EVO III GT turbo. (didn't realize 90moneypit beat me to it.) I think they used to be exclusive to turbochargers.com. Could be wrong though. I had one like 7 years ago that I got from them.
