Calgary,
Ah, yes, that wonderful out of control horn decides to go off , luckily during the day and I can't turn it off unless I diconnect the battery. In my searches I've found that this is a problem with a few other people but there hasn't been any solutions, unless I missed something. It just started the other day and then did it again this morning and the remote doesn't do anything. Does anybody have some sort of solution?

Check it out, all you have to do is put the key in the hatch and give it a turn and it will shut off, but who likes doing that every hour? I didnt so I wired my horn to a switch on my dash....I flip the switch and it cuts power to the horn so only the light flash when it goes off and im not there. ^Then if I need the horn...I flip the switch and use it. Its the only thing I could figure out for thie problem.

i was having the same problem.. so this morning before work, i ziptied the front hood sensor(thinking that maybe was the problem) and armed the car with my key, and it didnt go off once today. i'm going to take off the ziptie tomorrow at work again, and arm it with the key once again.. and see what it does. if i just unplug that sensor, will it read as a closed hood, or open hood? such a touchy system.. might just disable and install aftermarket.. good luck to all with the same problem..

This might be so far off but if some people are thinking it's the hood sensor then my problem may be that since I have a carbon fibre hood and both those days when it went off it was really windy. That wind may have caused the problem with the hood mving a bit?! I don't know, that could be so out there. Where is the sensor?

I am having this same problem and I have a carbon fiber hood with hood pins like the last guy and was wondering where that sensor is. I don't know what else could be setting it off since I just installed new door sensors.

I just have the factory alarm and have no hood sensor. However, I've had this same problem. Thought about it one day and realized how sometimes with my driver door open the interior lights don't come on, and when I lock the door, the alarm doesn't set. Obviously the car still thinks the door is shut. I used the reverse logic on this... I thought, if the alarm is set and the door switch then acts up, the car will think the door was opened and set off the alarm. So I disconnected the door switch over a month ago. Problem hasn't happened since. This obviously isn't the problem for KRUMMEL...you may have a wiring issue somewhere. See if you can trace the wire then ohm check end to end and pin to gnd. Of course one of them should be a ground but not both. ROMEEN- the door switch is more than likely your problem. Same goes to you SMEVANS.

Actually I don't have any problems with my alarm going off when it shouldn't. Putting the key in the driver's door to turn it off is just how the original owner's manual says to do it and it does work. The only issue I have is when setting the alarm the interior lights will flash twice but the parking lights will not. According to the owner's manual the parking lights should flash as well. But it's really not something that I'm concerned about.:)
