I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the little button under the heater control its the size of a quater with a little snow flake push it once it lites green push it agian it lite yellow....What does it do..I dont have an owners manual so I cant look it up...Thanx..Can you tell me how to check my wastegate acuator seei if its working or sticking open

That button is the air conditioning button. Its got two modes, economy mode or full. The orange is econ, the green is full.

As for the wastegate, you should be able to move it with your hand to see if it is siezed. Best way is to take it off and vaccuum test it. Are you having the symptoms of an bad wastegate?

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe that button when yellow means the a/c compressor is active part of the time, and green it is active all of the time. In my manual it tells how the the yellow one is used for more economic purposes.

Hook it up to a vaccuum gauge and pump. I'm not sure what PSi stock 14bs are set to open, but it should be around 12ish psi. If you pump around 12 psi or so on the vaccuum pump and it doesn't move, then something is wrong. There is just a diapragm on the inside that holds the pressure back, so if that is torn or has a hole in it, it won't work.

What does the yellow light on the A/C button mean?
From a post by Lorrin Barth:

"When the yellow light is on, the air conditioner delivers cold air when the interior of the car is hot and then gradually tempers the air as the interior of the car cools down. This is done by gradually changing the temperature set points at which the compressor cycles to higher temperatures."

"To see exactly how this all works check out the graph at the bottom of page 24-4 of the "Technical Information Manual"."

What does the green light on the A/C button mean?
Most people believe that the green light means the air conditioner compressor stays on all the time. This is not true.

From a post by Lorrin Barth:

"When the green light is on the air conditioner cycles off when the oulet temperature of the evaporator drops to 37 degrees and cycles on when it rises to 39 degrees. In other words, cold air all of the time. Of course, as in really hot weather, the evaporator temperature may take a long time to drop to 37 degress, and this is going to depend on the condition of the system too, making you think it never cycles.

So, as you can now see, the compressor cycles in either mode. To see exactly how this all works check out the graph at the bottom of page 24-4 of the "Technical Information Manual". "

I dont have an owners manual so I cant look it up...
eBay, ten bucks. Just get any 1Ga manual, there are few worthwhile differences.
