Does anyone remember the diameter for the turbo heat shield for a stock 14b? I am doing a re-rebuild again and will be needing a new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the heatshield inside the turbo? If so, any 14b/16g heatshield will work since they basically (but not exactly) use the same CHRA, shaft and turbine wheel.

BTW, a 14b isn't a TD04.

Yes Sir, the heat shield inside the turbo. Steve93Talon thanks for that link, that is the part! Please correct me if I am wrong because but can't you use a TD04 rebuild kit to rebuild all MHI 14g and 16g turbos? Or is a 14b closer to the size of a 13g? I am still learning the MHI series turbos so any help in the correction of my misunderstanding will be of some great help. THANKS

You're wrong- 14B and 16G turbos are a TD05H model. The compressor sealing ring collar and oil shield are different between 14B and 16G turbos as well, so you can't directly-interchange parts kits between the two.

You choose a parts kit by the model of turbo that you're repairing, not by what size it's "close" to. ;)

Also, most *good* TD05H parts kits should come with the heat shield included.

Thanks JusMX, that is what I am also needing to know.
Many Thanks to our Moderators for the information they contribute freely. Thanks Steve93 for your info on my first post!!!
