Hey guys I am struggling to figure this out so I will just ask.

While rebuilding my CHRA on my Mitsubishi OEM td04 49177-01900, it slipped out my hands and the inside lip got chipped on the compressor housing side. I have a couple questions.

1. Is it plausible to still put it back together and use the turbo or will it cause a boost leak of sorts?

2. Can I swap on a different TD04 turbos CHRA onto the housings instead of the Mitsubishi standard CHRA, I know they have different compressor wheel sizes, but could I possibly swap the wheels back to the Mitsubishi TD04 size and it work?

3. If I can swap different TD04 CHRA’s is there a CHRA that fits the same diameters as the Mitsubishi TD04?

That’s all I have, thank you for any response.

I think you want a new cartridge. I would not build with that part. Why TD04? You can get TD05 cartridges easy enough. - 14b, 16g use the same TD05 cartridge. Are you going for a 100% stock build with the stock intercooler pipes?

Yes I am going for a stock rebuild for the turbo. Or as close to stock as I can, but that specific CHRA is very hard for me to find.

I have not seen him post here in a while but JusMX141 is the resident pro builder of turbo's. If I were you, I'd reach out to him to see where you can get the parts.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use that at all if you don’t have many options. A little silicone will fill the void just fine.
