1G TCU Location

i think mine is going bad, i have no idea where it is located, iv done some searching cant find anything, help would be nice thing to do, thx...

oh man, coincidentally there was a post about this a couple days ago, maybe even yesterday. its located behind the center console, ill try and find the post, u should search for it too cause i think defiant posted a diagram of where it is, or at least someone on the thread did.

yup, located behind the center console. basically behind and below the radio. kind of a pain to get to really, but not bad.
basically just remove the side panels from the center console and you should see it, lying almost flat on the floor back there behind the radio.

Not to jack the thread, but...is the ECM back there too? I've got my radio out and I see the TCU, but there is another silver box back there. Is that what I'm looking at, the car's computer?

yup, the ecu is back there too.

I'm still having a problem finding my tcu, iv heard that it is near the ecu on the floor, but i also heard its under the intake.. 1990 automatic talon.. iv done research but to no avail...ty in advanced, pictures appreciated

open the driverside door, get down on your knees and look over to the gas pedal. To the right of the gas pedal is a piece of carpeting, if you pull that out of the way you'll see the golden/bronze colored unit, laying flat on the floor, a couple 10mm bolts and it comes right out.
