Hi All,
I want to take a moment and cover the mounting of our rear 2G brackets for the Rear Drag Kit.
A customer recently had a bracket tear from the mounting bolts which went on to damage the caliper and rotor as well.
We don't want anyone to experience this failure now or in the future so I'm taking a moment to clear up any confusion on the mount design.
The brackets are universal- side to side, but in doing so you can make the mount both FRONT SPINDLE or REAR SPINDLE. Meaning the caliper placement can be fore or aft of axle centerline. The design for this build had the bracket REAR spindle thus the braking forces are pulling against all three of the mounting hole. In mounting the plates FRONT spindle the load path is pulling against the thin walls of the M10 holes and tearing the bracket from the mount.
Please take a moment to review your mounting if you have a 2G kit. If you have them mounted behind center you should be fine. If you have them in front please look to be certain you are not seeing signs of fatigue around the M10 holes- elongated or cracked. If you are experiencing any of that discontinue use of the parts until suitable repairs/replacements are in procured. Feel free to emial me any images in question and we can discuss your needs on a case by case basis.
