My car will not see any normal street driving other then pulls to work on the tune or test the car out before the track. This is not a kit to be used on the street what so ever!

That is my whole point though, if you plan on no street duty at all I cant see the need for a vented rotor setup? Seems like there is weight savings being left on the table. Just my $.02

Your thoughts are correct however the means by which I can produce the finished kit in the form you see it now make this option both less costly to produce as well as less "funky" by way of necessary shims, spacers etc. to make it all fit. The actual weight difference is probably less than you think.

I'm also concerned about the requirements of a 3000+ lb car where I feel a bit more mass is just not a bad thing.

Fair enough, I know that its not a significant amount of weight difference, just wondering why you didnt and you answered it with the ease of fitment and reduced cost. Good looking kit either way! :thumb:

Shipped out a 1G rear kit today. Questions on the weight come down to a total shipping weight of 22lbs. That means roughly 10lbs per corner of product. A few folks asked for pictures so here they are. Note from the looks of it I may well be able to keep the stock caliper mounts in place, however they have been cut from the shop trailing arm.

Hi,

Todd, two questions:

Do these rotors and hats come preassembled in the drag kits?

For the 1G rear drag kit that you have pictured above. Do you still require that the the stock caliper mounting ears be cut from the trailing arm? If so, how does the caliper bracket mount to the trailing arm? Is it by the 3 dust shield bolt holes?

Bill

That's three or four questions Bill. But easy enough.

Hats are not assembled here or on any of my/Wilwood kits.

The ears 'may' be allowed to stay with how the bracket ended up. Hard to say as I had already removed them when wrapping it up. At the least I'd expect some clearance grinding.

Yes the plates are held in place by the three M8 bolts and the entire plate encompasses the bearing housing.

Pricing on the web page is current. The very early threads had me taking this in a somewhat different direction which after time proved as simply not going to work. Thus the change in both parts and price.

Hi,

Todd, you are right that was more than two questions haha. Thanks for the answers. I see that your kits do not come with bolts that can be used with safety wire. Would you recommend this?

Bill

I can supply them if you require it. The only reason I don't do so really is that the Wilwood ones are a full 1" long making them poke through the holes in the surface of the hat. I've put in some shorter .75 parts and have them red loctited. I think I sent a couple with the holes but it's a visual thing...

Todd,

Just wondering if you have recieved any of the pm's i've sent you???

For some reason my "sent" messages don't show either of the 2 i've tried to send.

Please shoot me a pm when you see this so i can open up a line of communication w/ you so that i don't clog up your thread :)

Pat

Got them now. Admit however I don't drop in here but maybe once a week.

Anyone wanting to get hold of me ever is advised to do so via email.

When you send a PM you have to click a box to have the message saved to your "sent folder"

Thought I'd bump this up some as I still have rotors ready for kit production. Shipping would be a few days behind as calipers need to be ordered in. Either way I'm sitting on some parts for anyone thinking about this.
