I removed the throttle body coolant lines about a month ago when the weather was still warm. The car idled great, now that it has gotten cold it will not idle under 2000 rpms. I suspect this is from not being able to melt the wax pellet for the fiav ? I looked on the vfaq on how to block it off but it only shows it for a 92 tb I believe. Im not 100% sure which year tb I have but it has 2 ports on the top and 2 ports on the side. I took the bottom plate off the tb and it looked totally different of course so I didnt do anything to it. Im going to hook the lines back up so my car will idle correctly unless there is a way to block it off on this year tb. Also the BISS screw is turned all the way in so it cant be idled down at all anymore.

I did a similar mod on my car but, i did not remove the coolant lines completely. What i did was install two shut off valves between the inlet and, the outlet hoses. It work's great this way because when it gets cold outside all i have to do is open the valves and, the coolant flows through the throttle body again. I'm looking in to getting some 12v electronic solenoid shut off valves so that i could do all this from the inside of the cabin with switches. Anyway this could be a possible solution to your problem. You could get the shut off valves at any hardware store.
