Yeah, something's wrong with this picture.

Even if you buy a NEW HX35 and put it into a NEW BEP housing, you're still sitting right around $1000 for the turbo and the housing. What's left? The manifold doesn't look that amazing...probably a SBR cast unit for $250. I can't view the o2 housing in the pics, but it's probably nothing fancy.

This sounds like severe exaggeration on the seller's behalf.

Haha, agreed, I bought an hx40 from andy4g63, had it rebuilt by justmx141, put a NEW BEP .70 ar t3 housing on it, running an ams ram horn manifold and that is not even close to 2000$!!!!

Yup, yup.
You invest in stocks and gold but spend on cars. My Talon is worth the 20K or so (to me) that I have spent on the mods. But if the car went on the market it would be worth less than 10 grand (cash) to a buyer.

Moded DSM's have to be sold to someone in cash because no banker in his right mind will offer a loan of more than double the BB price on a 12 year old car.

Oh, 20k in mods? Sounds about right, +- a couple grand. DSM modding always involves spending the same amount of money twice or three times because the original part broke I'm pretty confident my talon has over 20k in her

Ive broken mine a lot, but ive done a lot myselef for labor almost 99 percent of it. Alignments no, pressing bearings out no. But everything else just about yes, 20000 grand mmm iffy.

Those Buschur longblocks aint cheap ... he's got a pretty extensive list of stuf but i doubt 20k as well.. $3400 turbo setup on one of those cheap hx turbos? WTF

He's saying there's 3,400 MILES on the turbo setup, not $3400.

It's possible, especially with the long block and if he had machine work done, it's completely feasible.

Hell, the previous owner of my 2g dumped over $10,000 in the engine. I only spent $600 on the car and $800 to get it in running condition (even though I still need to finish the assembly), so I'm content with what I paid, .
