to get the paint off you could use like terpintine or some kind of paint thinner just put it on a rag and rub really hard. and does it say greddy three times on it

no it just said greddy across it once..i tried everything nothing worked so I had to use paint thinner and paint remover with a q tip and tooth pick and get it all off little by little.. its still hard to get off inside the fins but its not noticable..i cant scrub on ii because the fins would bend..thanks

Air craft stripper or similar product. Any auto parts store should carry a variety. Just spray it on, let it soak and hose off. If it's stubborn use your Q-Tip method with the stripper.

My intercooler is in absolutely perfect condition after probably 10 applications to rid it of the heavy coat of paint the last owner had on it.

Maybe not aircraft stripper because itll eat up the aluminum but you can use regular paint stripper sold at any autoparts stor for less than $5.00

just spray on wait two minutes and hose off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rocks:

I don't know what aircraft stripper you guys are buying, but the stuff I have used looks like this. It is specificity labeled for use on aluminum. So lets not make assumptions that its going to eat his intercooler away.

aircraft stripper DOES NOT eat away at aluminum. It's corrosive, but won't melt the damn thing

The spray will probably be the best application here. As said before, just spray it on and wait a couple of minutes, then spray off (better to brush it down first).

I suppose I should clarify that I do not remember what brand I used on the intercooler. Between that, rims and other projects I've used most kinds with no particular preference. Some seem to work a little better than others. Go ahead and read the label. Try to buy one that says it's safe for aluminum. Honestly, unless you let it soak for weeks on end I think you'll be just fine either way.
