I've been contemplating about doing this for a while now. I thought I'd take it off temporarily and see if I like it or if it's just a phase. Anyone know how to take it off? Approx. how many bolts and what do I need to unbolt? Is it a pain in the ass or simple? Thanks.

well if u decide to keep it off and want to sell it let me know :) and it would be local pick up....

HB is kind of far from me. But yea, I'll sell it to you if I decide to keep it off. DSMtuners discount! :thumb:

pop the hatch take off the plastic cover and then you will see the bolts for the spoiler up there its that simple :thumb:

My sis goes to UOP in stockton so I go up North all the time :)

remove the three screws holdng the last plastic trim peice on to the hatch. Pull the plastic peice so it comes of the clips and is no longer on the underside of the hatch. You will need a 10mm socket and an extension. The two front bolts(almost all the way at the tip of the points of the wing) don't need the extension just take them out. Next youwill take out the two rear bolts they are recessed behind some suport sheet metal so you will need the extension for this. Take those out as well, there are four bolts total. Next close the hatch and slowly rock the wind back and forth untill it comes off, there is a plastic thing on each side of the wing that hold it in place that make it a bit difficult to remove the wing. AFter this stand back and look at the beauty of the 2g without a wing. Leave wing of for a week and you will grow tired of it and put it back on.

I took the wing of my 2g(check gallery for pics) at first I really really liked it, didn't see practicaly any other 2g's without wings and it looked relatively good from a front angle or side profile. However, after looking at it for a couple weeks looking at the rear of the car started to bug me it just didn't look.....right. I put the wing back on and enjoy it. When the summer comes around next year I migh take it off again but I don't know if I could leave it permanentely off.

Leave it on....our cars dont look right with out it. only one does I know i say leave it on but look at this LOL only car i liked with it off.

I think it looks good off. Some people just don't adapt to change very well.

eh I loved it off at first, and for the first month and a half maybe but then everytime I would approach my car from the rear I would hate it. Half my problem was tht I am on the stock 16" rims. If you go wingless you hae to have at least 17's on the car.

i spent a long time shaving the trunk lid to get it perfect and smooth as glass... there's no reason to have one as far as im concerned, the turbo wing never came on my car, and looks like ass with it, the trunklid looks nice without on on. clean ass end on a slammed spyder is the best way in my opinion. ;)

Looks great without it on there! Thing is, how do you fill in the holes? Do you have to weld it in and get it repainted? If so, forget it.

you'd weld, grind, bondo, and repaint. on mine, the idiots cut like 4 sets of holes into the trunk for the aftermarket wing, plus the OEM holes, so it was a nightmare... took many, many resurfacings to get perfect... i hate erector set wings.
