hey guys i recently bought a 90 tsi awd. the car had about 83k on it when i got it and had a new motor put in it back in 1995 with about 32k on it. the guy that i bought it off of was the original owner and he told me that the tach didnt work ever since the new motor was put in. this is my main problem rite now. my tach doesnt work and i was wondering what it could possibly be.

On 90 dsm's only there is a tach adaptor thing.. on the back side of the manifold without it the tach wont work.. every other modle has it intergrated into the coil pack..

here is a very detailed thread about it here..
