T3/t4 turbo 3" inlet!

I may sound stupid asking this but... i'm looking to buy a t3/t4 and it has a 3" inlet does that mean that my intake has to be 4" to fit over it??WTF

What does the outlet have to do with your intake? If you mean your inlet than your intake pipe just needs to be the same size or get a silicone reducer to fit the intake pipe and the turbo inlet.
