I am trying to find a T28 Manifold I don’t want the stock one I want to just buy one. I have searched on DSM Tuners to see if anyone else has done it but everyone just ports the stock one well I have Cracked 3 of those so far I want to get a better one. Where do I find one and do they even make them any ideas.

Thanks Always
Brien

Any Mitsubishi flanged manifold will work. If you are looking for a tubular I would look at DNP's and SBR's for a mid range priced one. For a lifetime warranty try a Shearer for about a grand. If you want a cast manifold that will last look at SBR's cast mani.

I don't know much about the off brand manifolds sold on ebay. Some people have had great luck and some people have had nothing but problems. Here is the link to SBR's offerings. For $100 more than that ebay one you can have an SBR mani that flows better than an EVO III out of the box and has had tons of R&D and great customer support.

If you want one that won't crack I would stick to the SBR cast manifold and never look back.

If you are trying to find a cheap replacement turbocharges.com has a EVO GT Manifold for $145.

Anyone have trouble with the manifold?
I did, I welded 5 times the flange for the wastegate... I havent called them yet about this issue, but i know what they are gonna say....Again, personal experience, when SBR was building block for me, it was the nightmare and i dont wanna go , do and think back :(

New custom manifold from SBR looks better and i dont think it will have the same problem with flange because it doesnt have a neck....

As far as the SBR mani's not cracking, not to sure about that. When I had my heat shield off this spring I noticed 2 external cracks in my SBR mani in the collector area, I haven't taken the turbo off so I have no idea how bad the inside is. This was after one summers use, maybe 10K, the mani hasn't even had enough time for the high temp paint to rust off yet :toobad:

I finished the first one of these back in early 2005 and have sold a handful here and there since. I've finally decided to release it once final testing is complete. They aren't going to be cheap since they come ceramic coated, expect them to be in the $900 range. As always the manifold carries a limited lifetime warranty and the coating carries a 3 year manufacturer warranty.

I just installed this manifold a week or two ago. Pretty pleased with it, good fit, it's cast bigger than a ported Evo, and is pre-tapped for EGT.

look really really good. Do all of your manifolds come coated? I hate the way ss looks after heat cycling.

go with the EvoGT from turbochargers.com

if that cracks on you in the first year its cause your engine is running really hot

This manifold is fully ported to fit 7cm2 turbo housing for 89-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse etc. w/ hardware

*note* Does not fit automatic

Ok what does it mean by does not fit automatic? I have an auto and also a FP BIG T28 ported will it direct bolt up?????

I'm pretty sure it will. Think about it realistically. The only difference is the trans. The manifold and turbo set-ups are the same on both a mt and at 2g. So yes, it should fit.

they are talking about the 1g and for that you only have to cut off a small corner of the flange where it attaches to the head.

Even that wouldn't make sense to their "does not fit AUTO" claim then. Because all 1g's have that bracket in the way of anything other than a 1g manifold. (unless you remove the bracket)

Hey guys sorry to disrupt but this is a 2G area that I need help on I could care less about 1G's and I put that in there at the beginning of the post.

I have this manifold installed on my 2g automatic - I had to grind away a small portion of the bracket for the power steering pump in order for this manifold to fit. It mates up to the cylinder head perfectly. However, there was a small clearance issue with the pump bracket, and hence the grinding was necessary.

Calm down buddy, geez. 1g's were only brought up because of the 1g "bracket" that seems to cause an issue, which was PART OF YOUR ANSWER when you asked about the GT manifold not fitting on auto's.

So yes, 1g's were brought up, but they were only talked about because of a question YOU asked. So i will repeat, CALM DOWN.

Yes, the manifold will fit a 2G auto, if you read my prior post i answered that for you already.

Yeah, maybe that bracket is a problem on most cars then. I've only heard about it being an issue of notability on 1g's.

Regardless though, for $145 i think a little grinding to fit isn't a big deal at all, even for a 2g.

And FYI eclipse223, you NEVER said anything about not talking about 1g's in your original post.

Well actually to tell you the truth the Topic says 2g T28 manifold. This is what I want; I want a Manifold that would bolt up with out any grinding or messing around with. Simple bolt up.

OK, thats great, but don't yell at me about it because you wern't specific enough.

You might not be able to find a manifold that will "just bolt up". The world isn't always that perfect, especially for us automatic guys.
