ok here is my problem i just finshised my t25 swap on my talon.
just stock for stock primed it what not but here is my prob well i have a coolant leak and i am pretty sure it is by the banjo bolt. at frist it was just dipping so i tighten it as best as i could even put a dent in my poor oil return line :ohdamn:. so it stoped leaking when off.
but when i start it up now its just a steady steam. so i am really in the woods boys and i need some help or adivce could it be the cooper washer. or will i have to pull the turbo all out just to try and fix the leak. as i dont have another car and i dont get paid for a while.
as i would have to drain oil and coolant agian.. also if i drian my oil can i reuse it i got fresh oil when i got the new turbo so it has 0 miles at the moment. please somone give me somthing i can use this is just bs :banghead:. as this has been almost a hole week with this swap. just minor bumps in the road like having to get now bolts and what not also. this is my first swap so dont bust me to bad guys thanks hopfually somone will know how to fix this maybe it has happen to a few of you guys. thanks :D....darkstar

From what you described I would say try a new washer first. Hopefully you are correct and the leak isn't somewhere else. You shouldn't have to pull the whole turbo out again.

Normally you never reuse oil but if it has 0 miles then I would say make sure you drain it into a CLEAN container, then inspect it for any contaminants before putting it back in.

Good luck and good job on trying it out yourself!

EDIT:

Sounds like a crush washer. Those need to be replaced because they cant be reused.

Ah, beat me to it :p

yea that is what i am thinking it was the washer. if it is what would be the best way to get at it as it is leaking form the banjo bolt right next to the block so it is kind of a bi*** to get to. any ideas guys thanks for the help so far. :thumb:

Your more then likely gonna have to pull the turbo again. But dont drain the oil completly. If you unbolt the oil return line it will leak some out but its unecessary to drain all the oil. If you buy just 1 qrt of oil you should be good. Drain all the coolant. Get a new washer on the banjo and re install it. Re fill coolant and fill the engine with a little more oil. start it up and see if she leaks

If you're ever at autozone pick up a set of rubber caps and plugs. They will make your life much easier. Chances are it's the crush washer. You can find those at shops that specialize in hose and tubing. I would replace the banjo bolt as well since after you tighten them so many time the area between the holes will stress and snap. Those can also be found at said store.

Oh and cleaning up the sealing surfaces on the line is a good idea. A fine grit sandpaper will do it.
