What type of symptoms would I see with the number 4 injector leaking? It seems to be a pretty bad leak. I also found one coming from my bliss screw. Thanks in advance.

Chris

Spray the hell out of where the injector plugs into the head with super-soapy water. Pressurize the intake (boost leak test) and peek over top of the motor with a flashlight and see if that area is foaming/bubbling up. Might help to have two people there so one can look for foam/bubbles while the other applies boost leak test pressure.

If it's leaking, it's a pretty easy fix. There's a tech article for removing the fuel rail and injectors. I'd replace the injector o-rings, high pressure fuel line o-rings (both ends of fuel rail), and injector insulators (the things that's leaking boost) all at one time while the rail is off.

I ordered the insulators from extreme psi but i did not get the o-rings for the end of the fuel rail. Where can i get those from?

I got all of the o-rings from a local Mitsu dealership. Perhaps you can get them from other places.

It's not the end of the world if you don't replace the o-rings. Just leave the injectors in the fuel rail so that you don't damage the o-rings. I forget if it's even possible to remove the rail without taking the FPR and fuel supply line from the ends of the rail. If so, you could leave all of the o-ring stuff intact, and that might keep them as good as they were beforehand (and if you weren't leaking fuel before, that means you wouldn't be leaking fuel afterward). Be very careful to check for fuel leaks after you've finished. A fuel fire under the hood is at a minimum, destructive, and at a maximum, dangerous.

EDIT: I think you'd want to pull the high pressure fuel line off the passenger side of the fuel rail just to make sure you've relieved fuel pressure in the rail. I followed the depressurization instructions to the tee, but I still got sprayed in the face when I pulled the high-pressure fitting out of the end of the fuel rail. If there's still pressure in the rail when you unbolt it from the motor, it might pop the injectors out. Also, I didn't change my high-pressure fuel line o-ring when I did my insulators, and I didn't leak. YMMV. Use dielectric grease (a bit) on the o-rings when you put things back together so that the o-rings don't tear.

I have never replaced the fuel line o-rings and I have never had a problem. I just put a light coating of dielectric grease on them before reinstalling. This isn't really for helping it seal but rather to help it not tear while installing.
