Basically, I'm getting sick of the rubber lines going to the oil cooler failing unexpectedly. Last night, it took me 3 hours to do an oil change due to some unexpected repairs I had to make. After I took off the old oil filter, I couldn't get the new one on (larger oil filter from 90-91). The clamp on the hose on the top fitting of the oil cooler was in the way, and when I tried to loosen the clamp to rotate/move it, coolant started leaking out. Not to mention that the hose was swollen to like twice the size it should be. Long story short, I ended up with a torn hose and a huge unexpected mess. I replaced it temporarily with some hose I had laying around, but the problem is the stock one has a bend that takes it away from the heatshield/downpipe. I covered the hose I have on there now with heatwrap (temporarily) because it's right next to the heatshield. The only good thing is I caught it before it left me stranded somewhere, kind of like when the hose at the bottom fitting slowly leaked coolant on the highway during what was supposed to be a 4.5 hour road trip.
Anyway, instead of just replacing that hose with an OEM one (if they still make it), I was thinking of getting a Derale Sandwich Adapter (part #15702) or Evo OFH, and a small air cooler (maybe just an OEM unit from the 90-91). My only concern is how much of a drop in oil pressure it may cause. I've read several threads throughout the years, and everyone talks about how much it improves/decreased oil temps, but no mention about any change in oil pressure.
