i have a 93 eagle talon an im also gettin a 91 eclipse they both have the 4g37 i want to do the swap to a 4g63t what all is have to be done to do it. do i have to change the motor mounts. an im in the process of gettin a 93 eclipse with the 4g63t but there is no title so all i would do is swap the motor out. an where is the best place to get all this stuff an does anyone know a place that knows where i could pick up a single peice headlights for the 93. (i dont like the 2 peice set)

im new at this im still looking for sites to get stuff from. i know people that will help me out buildin the motor i might be gettin the motor an tranny for 400 but i want to rebuild it

oh i need reviews on the 91 eclipse cause this guy is wantin to trade for my camaro (the bottom half of the motor is blowin) an im more into imports anyway.

You have to swap alot of stuff. First thing is the turbo eclipse your getting to swap the motor and trans out of will have to be fwd, because all the non turbos were fwd. You will have to swap the motor and trans including the mounts. You will have to swap the ecu and wiring harness. You will have to swap the shifter cables and the exhaust inless you plan on getting a new exhaust. And you will have to swap the intake with the maf sensor. Its not very easy to do.

Swapping a turbo into a non-turbo isn't just something the cool kids are doing. If you ask for opinions of most people, read the tech articles and look over the faq, you'll find that the best course of action if you want a turbo dsm is to buy a turbo dsm.

I have done a non turbo 4g63 swap with a turbo 4g63 but I do not believe that what you are wanting to is possible since the wiring harnesses are different. Take my advice, save your time money and effort and just buy a turbo DSM. I wish that is what I had done.

well the second eclipse im gettin has the 4g63t in it but theres no title so ill have everything i need. the reason i want to do it to my talon is that it has the DL on it an no one would be expectin that. i kinda figured it was goin to be a bi*** but if it works it would be sweet. unless anyone has got any ideas how to make the 4g37 just has fast

Why can you not get a title for the turbo DSM that you would be getting? Ever heard of a salvage title or is the car hot?

Then go for it man. The turbo DSM should have nicer interior options and creature comforts compared to that base model shat box. Plus it already has the plumbing, wiring and engine that are all made to handle a turbo.

has anyone heard of team rip for transmissions they are in michigan? i heard they are extremely good i just want more advice bout them before i go spend 2000 for them to rebuild my transmission.

my plan really is to autocross my car an i love the feelin of the turbo from when i rode in my friends wrx sti and my other friends impreza

ok i will do that. an ill talk to my one friend bout it i kinda trust him a lot since i see what hes got an he knows a lot.

yea the 1.8 swap isnt worth it at all... Maybe if you had the gs with the 4g63 in it and you want to swap to the 4g63 turbo motor then it wouldnt be so bad, but the 1.8 is completely different motor and wiring harness and setup....
Maybe consider buying another turbo dsm and in the meantime taking the motor in the one without the title and building that up completely while your driving on the dsm you bought, and then just dropping in the built up motor in the turbo dsm you bought and using the other turbo engine as back up, or selling it to get some of your money back out of it ... ( Dont know you price range ?) but my point is also its hard to built up a everyday driver that you drive every day...

yea i know thats why i want a second car so im not building up my everyday car. my dad preffers i keep my camaro but i can get the elcipse an just sell it so i have more money.
heres what i need for the camaro and the elcipse for them to run. but im goin to look for a turdo dsm. my plan is to just sell which one ever i keep as is mayb drive the eclipse for a lil bit
