I've been looking into 6-bolt swaps for a while now and still haven't found a topic on quite what I want to know. I'm looking for whichever would be easier to install and cheapest to do, either a complete 6-bolt longblock swapped in, or a 6-bolt bottom end paired with my 7-bolt head. I'm not really interested in performance as I have read way too much on that and I have still yet to see any numbers comparing the two, so as far as I'm concerned they are even (both arguments seem to make sense larger ports vs. better port design).

Oh and one more question, if I was to go with the 6-bolt block/7-bolt head what would I need besides a 6-bolt shortblock? Or does that all depend on where I get the shortblock from? Thanks in advance.

What are your horsepower goals?

What would be your reasoning for swapping your motor?

if i were you and wanted a stronger engine i would go for the 4G64 bottom end swap it would in turn make your engine a 2.34342345324L LOL just a guess but it would make it a 2.3-2.4

its just that

or if you want a 6 bolt all that bad all you are going to need is the crankshaft and i am pretty sure thats it thats what we did to my friends 7 bolt 94 laser

My goals aren't that serious, I'd say 350-400, maybe even 450 in time. I'm trying to keep it as my daily driver. My reason for swapping is to get away from crank walk. I know I know, if its not broke then don't fix it...but with my mileage nearing 100k I just never know when I'm not going to make it home. I've read that once you're near 100k you're in the clear but other people say that it can happen any time. I know it's rare, but I still can't keep the thought out of the back of my mind ya know? Or would you just recommend building my 7-bolt until something happens, maybe put in a t-28 or an 18g or something like that?
