Suspension Options (Under a Grand)

Im looking for some new suspension for next season but I can't really find much to choose from. I like the Megan Coilovers but I can't really find much info on how people like them. Also I can't find any springs either. Can anyone help direct me?

I installed the BC coilovers and I really enjoy them. I have them on 4 of 36 for the "damping" setting which is on the softer side and it rides nicer than my 2010 VW TDI Golf. I would recommend them as best of the budget.

I saw those and that setup is really pushing the budget. I finally find some stuff on the Megan's and the one thing I was scared about was the shocks blowing out. But thats because people put them on the stiffest setting and then hit pot holes . But does anyone know if there is anymore 1g lowering spring options?

There are 10 or 20 ways to lower a car. What do you really want out of the setup?

There is a good discussion on setups, from the discussion the koni/gc setup was the best performing coilover setup when compared to anything for that price range.

^Agreed, but Koni's aren't an option for 1G's any more. Not on the rear.

The Megan's are nice. I have driven a 300ZX that was Megan equipped and the ride was nice and actually comfortable. The car handled quite respectable with these. As for how these rate on DSMs, there is a member on here that used the Megan coilovers for autox/road course duty, but he dirves a 2g.

Have you given any thought to the KSport Kontrol Pro's? Two of my close friends use the Ksports and have had great success with them. These cars are used for drag racing though. I actually helped install them on one of thier DSMs and it was pretty easy and straight forward. They are easy to adjust and I was impressed with the difference they made vs. the old KYB/Eibach setups that people run. They even come with adjustable camber plates. To put it another way, I was impressed enough to order a set of KSports for myself.

The problem is that there is virtually no suspension options on the market for 1g's anymore. Not that I have found. I have seen those Ksports but forgot about them. And what do I want out of this setup? I want to be able to drop my car a significant amount (I dont care about bad roads, I know how to avoid them around here...but I'm not slamming my car like a Honda) and I want to be able to stiffen up the suspension. Hence why I am thinking about either Coilovers or some KYB AGX's (I have them on my 91 GST) with some lowering spring, but I can't find any lowering springs for a 1g. I really would like to go coilovers though.

What? There are a half dozen spring choices, a half dozen coilover setups, several shock choices...

Have you clicked on any of our vendors and just looked?

Map, no spring options. Extremepsi, no Spring Options. Other than Megan Springs but im not running any of those. I would love to see these half a dozen spring choices for a 1g AWD.

After a quick search, H&R came back with only 2g hits on Ebay, but I've seen them there in the last month. Tein came back instantly on Ebay. Megan (yes, I read your post) is everywhere. Eibach Sportlines and ProKits came back on Buschur's site.

Yes, that's 5. The point remains.

I forgot all about Buschur and I dont normally search Ebay. MAP and Extreme are usually my first choice. Sportlines arent touching my car I do know that as well as Megan springs.

Springs are not that big of a gamble used, though shocks can be.

I never thought that used springs can still be taken a gamble on. Shocks i knew for a fact though
