1G SUSPENSION GURU'S HELPP! ....Best rear spring size/rate for drag? (Kyb agx)

I'm getting kyb agxs on my 1990 talon this weekend (basically for free) and the fronts have eibach sportlines, but the rears have crappy ebay lowering springs... My cars going to be mainly for drag, but would like to handle okay also...

On that stm page, (basically the only place I could find a pair at a time) those swift springs, it looks like you can literally find any size, ID, and length and spring rate and every combination of everything...

I couldnt find what size or anything I would need for a good drag setup. I'm guessing you would want the front stiffer then the rear? Not sure.

Any info I would really appreciate thanks guys.

When I went from my stock suspension to Megan coilovers I went from a 13.8 in the quarter mile to a 13.2. The launches were incredible. The Megan coilovers have 12 kg/mm (672lb) springs in the front and 10 kg/mm (560lb) springs in the rear. Insanely stiff, and way too stiff for any public roads, even on the softest setting.

I swapped the Megan springs to Eibach springs with 450lb springs up front and 400lb springs in the back. It still launches crazy hard when the coilovers are set to the hardest setting, but when I turn them down to the softest setting they actually ride decent on the street.

Very stiff, I think in the rear i would want something a little lighter so it squats and digs in... Or is that just my muscle car roots talkin???

I remember my first dsm first time EVER racing ANYTHING at the track, I was bangin 1.6 60s on a stock 92 with a buscher 20g and a .22 reaction time first race... Second race was a .09 reaction I really thought I redded the launch so I let off at the end and ran a 13.4 @116 I probably coulda been in the 12s had I not, then a boosted 350z dumped oil all the way down the track and I never got another race again, can't wait till this ones done

.. Does anyone know the size of the rears? Like, inside diameter X length?

The swifts come in pairs for like 170 a pair but i wanna make sure I get the correct ones..

Can you guys point me in the right direction? Theres like 10 dif sizes and each size has like 30 did options so it's not exactly a 50.50 chance of getting the correct ones...

I cant remember off hand the length but the inside diameter was 2.5 inches. the length was either 6 or 8 inches.

That's for the rears? Okay cool. I will eventually have a set in front of me but the set will be cheap ebay lowering springs so I duno if I should trust the length of them... I'll eventually compare mine to them

Hey guys I'm just going on revive mode (or trying to anyway) on this topic because I got my suspension (kyb agx, front sportlines, rear cheap ebays)

Based on the size of the rear cheap ebay springs, they are 2.5 x 7... I know sportlines slam a car pretty low right?

I'm going to buy swifts for the rear...

In the picture below is a list of 65mm x 7", 8", and 9"... I'm not sure which size I should get, which spring rate I should get, etc..
