I had a bad ITE, I replaced it, now I need an alignment. But I am still getting a thunk over bumps but it is only when I'm not on the brakes. Has anyone had this problem?? I don't know what to do... I'm out of ideas. I really just want my car to stop making noises, LOL.

How did you lift the vehicle? With a jack or post lift? Do a "dry lift". Take a floor jack to the lower control arm until the tire is off the ground, this way the suspension is compressed. You get a better feel for play this way. Also how do all the bushings look? Any cracked or torn, or even gone? Sway bar bushings, control arm bushings?

I did the dry lift and no dice. But I noticed my caliper has play in it, although the drivers side doesn't. The caliper doesn't hold on the rotor either it is completely loose. I'm going to check the bolts and if they are good, I will replace the caliper.

I replaced the caliper and it still makes noise, but it is less. Any other ideas guys and gals?

All in all I needed a new Outer and Inner Tie rod End, New caliper, and Lower Ball Joint with Arm. My ball joint was ultimately the sound, the travel was from the Tie rod. Just to clarify it was the curved ball joint and we couldn't replicate the sound on the car. It just looked sketchy so we took it off and sure enough the ball joint was sloppy and clanking. All is well, now I just need to fix that idle :) LOL
