alright, here's the scoop. i am rebuilding a 91 GSX using 6 bolt motor and possibly sheppard racing transmission. i know i will have at my disposal a t3/t4 and a starion FMIC. still debating on forged internals but from what i hear 2g piston heads on 6 bolt rods works just fine (any feedback would be appreciated on this). planning on 550cc injectors with a walbro 190 pump with stock exhaust (for the time being). any feedback on what to add with these or change about use would be greatly appreciated

How big is the turbo? The intercooler isn't that great, but better than the stock one. Those internals will work fine, but how much power do you plan to make?

yeah i realize i neglected to put all the key info in. i want the car to be in the low to mid 300 range power wise (or more, ) because it will be something not intended to be driven daily but i know i will end up just parking my n/t. the starion fmic is a temporary improvement over stock. i will have the boost not going over 20 with an EBC but on the street keeping at about 14-16 i think and i am not quite sure yet about the trim level of this turbo but its free and less that 500 miles on it.

Ok first thing, the 1g rods will have to be machined to fit the 2G pistons. Its a great combo, because the 1G rods are real strong and the 2G pistons are high compression so they7 are strong too.As far as the injectors, I would go more with 650cc's just so you have the capability for more HP and since its a t3/t4 you know you need a header that will be compatable with it...if it is going to be street driven so a while I would get a cast exhaust mani, for now, and when its just on the track go to a tubular...or you could have the tubular supproted and ceramic coated for added stregth.Also I would have the turbo housing ported before you put it on. Also I would invest in an ams ems or DSMLink, b/c whats the point of a lot of power if you cant get it all out of the car. Just my 2 cents.

I would maybe look at getting a smaller turbo for less money. If you plan on running only 14-16psi a 50 trim is going to be terribly ineffcient. Save your money and get like an EVO 3 16g. That way you don't have to get a new exhaust manifold as well. Now if you were going to run around 20psi, which is perfectly safe as long as you have the car tuned, then keep the 50 trim.

It's as safe as you tune it to be. Getting a good tune is important, and definately something you should invest in.

If your upgrading injectors and fuel pump, you'll need some form of tuning device such as an AFC or DSMLInk.
