It's done!! I finished replacing the head in my Eclipse and it is driving perfectly. :hellyeah: Jesus, it's been years since I could spool up the turbo like this without blowing coolant through my exhaust.. I am getting these tires: Yokohama S.drive and am bringing it in Friday for a new catalytic converter and smog test. I had a question about the power steering though, anytime I turn sharp at low speeds I hear this squealing and the power steering is sort of inconsistant. The steering wheel will turn for a few inches then have to be pulled harder for a few seconds then work then stop then work etc.. I am wondering what the deal is. This didn't happen before. I want to know if it is the belt being too tight(I know it's not too loose) or what the deal is. It could probably use a little power steering fluid but if this wasn't happening before I took it apart that doesn't seem like it could be the problem. If I don't get it fixed I will just cut the belt but it would be nice to just have it function properly. Thanks everyone for the help with my pervious questions(and hopefully this one) what I learned on hear helped me out a lot with this project. This is the first major thing I have ever done to a car and it worked right off the bat. Please help with the ps issue though. Thanks Again :thumb:

To me, it sounds like the belt is slipping. If it is a new belt, tighten it a little more, try it and see what happens. Make sure the fluid is full to start with.

I think it was the belt. I tightened it and the steering worked fine. I waited too long though and the belt was a little glazed over so it still squeeled. Especially in cold weather. And when it would squeel the power steering would not work as well which makes sense. I finally got around to replacing the belt today and it now works great. I had to replace the front brakes and figured I might as well just take care of everything at once. Thanks for the help guys!
