i have a 92 eagle talon AWD that i just bought. and i was wondering if anyone knew a website that sold subwoofer boxes that would fit in the trunk of the car, or if anyone has like. a blue print, or plans that i can use to build one of my own boxes. ill probably either put in a couple 10's or a couple 12s. not to sure yet.

My friend bought his sub boxes for his truck pretty cheap thru best buy, they have q-logic ( i think thats the brand ) boxes cheap, just a general design for the size of woofer you have. Its a quick and cheap way to get one in the vehicle.
If you like DIY jobs, definately build the enclosures yourself! I do this as a side job for ppl, I use commercial software to design the boxes, it sounds so much better with a custom enclosure, just because with these design softwares, you can design the box for the woofer perfectly by using the data sheet from the manufacturer so you can find the most efficient volume to make the box. I bought a sub in some box for cheap and made my own enclosure and it practically sounds like a new sub! You can tune ported boxes too... there was a free software I heard of, called WinISD, search for that... just a few options. ;)

yeah, you can go to best buy, circuit city, car toys, any of those places and buy one that will fit in your trunk. however they look and sound much better in a custom enclosure IMO. i am just about done w/ mine and i think it is looking great. I just have to cut my plexiglass and then i'll post pictures. Later

Pretty much anything will work (Either a prefab box from somwhere or building it yourself), unless you want like a full on cutom box. Iv'e never seen a prefab box like they have for camaro's and tran am's.

Just make sure whatevert box you buy/build will fit in the trunk.

send a pm to 1991gs-t .. he makes custom boxes for any dsm, just tell him what you are gonna put in it and he will make it with amp enclosure and everything and make it look good, hit him up...and tell him i sent ya

i got my sub box at circuit city...i have 2 tens in the trunk of my car..only thing is..if your going to have subs..dont look forward to too much trunk space

ok, thanks for all your replies, you really helped me out. my brother made an awesome box for the back of his truck at one point so maybe he can help me make a custom one if i find dimensions of the trunk.

the main thing that worried me was the spare tire that kinda sticks out from the floor of the trunk. it made me think id have to make or buy a box with a semi circle groove in the bottom part of the box to fit around some of the tire or something. i didnt think best buy was that into car stereo equippment, so ill check them out.. once again thanks for your comments.

Where in the Bay Area are you? I'm in San Jo. I have a generic box that will hold two 10's that I don't know what to do with. I have no idea if it will fit in your 1G's trunk or not, or even a 2G's trunk for that matter. It's been sitting around for a while. If you want it, it's yours for the low low price of FREE if you are willing to pick it up. PM me if you're interested.

I doubt that it'd fit in the trunk of a 1st gen. The trunk is tiny. Even though it's a hatchback, there's only about a foot of room between the hatch cover and the bottom of the trunk. I don't think it's smart to have subs/equipment in my trunk without a hatch cover to hide it.

The 1g AWD trunks are horribly small compared to the FWD trunks. Im currently offering some custom enclosers that will keep your spare AND keep the cover on. Also makes your Drivers sound a hell of alot better than the cheapie boxes. Pm me if interested. :thumb:

yeah I have a 1G AWD, and I had to build a custom box(es) for my subs, I already have one done, it fits pretty good, but they were a bi*** to make and fit, cause the paneling in the back is so awkward, the corners like, stick out! I would have made one that would sit in the middle, but I really can't cause I have to fit hockey stuff in the trunk, which is hard enough as it is. I would post pics, but my camera is not working

i just finished mine...

just a quick question for that last post. am I looking at this correctly, u put the amp inside the box? is it sealed or ported? and how do you intend on cooling the amp? it does look great though.

its not a box...its two layers and the amp gets plenty of airflow. alos the subs are protected and sound great.

i guess i should add that my car is AWD, and the trunk space isnt as much as a regular 2 wheel drive. my brother, "who i bought the car from" not to long ago told me this. so that might, support the question i had.
