I know the 1g turbo eclipses had a different turbo for the auto than the manual, which one is on the manual(whats the name of it)? And will it bolt up to a auto with no problems or is there some issue with that? If it will fit why did they use different turbos on them?

Thanks

1G Manual trans = 14B/450cc "blue top injectors"
1G Auto trans = 13G/390cc injectors

The skinny: Forget about AUTO's.

5 spd Stir Stick, or get some other car., thats just good advice.

No offence Auto guys.....You know you would have gotten a 5 spd....if you would have had 2 cars sitting side by side!!!

And hate to tell you.....but "searching" yields tons of results.

Yea, I found the part about the turbos after I posted this, sorry bout that. Why did they use a different turbo and smaller injectors on the auto cars?

well I have a auto just for the simple fact that its my first car and i think it would be to much for m eto deal with but thats just me ...I just hate when ppl have a slow car and think there so hardcore cause they have a stick shift .......I have a 97 eclipse gsx :thumb:

Possibly better gas mileage. Look at the stock gas mileage for both and even with smaller injectors and a smaller turbo, it's still lower than a 5-speed. Even though we know those numbers don't always give us real world results, they're something to look at.

take no offense, but in GSXTACY's Defense...i don't think he meant that it would be faster..(however stock vs stock...stick would be =)...) but with a car that has a TURBO in it, it just wouldn't be......well....AS FUN.... :p IMO

There actually 380's. 390's are in the 2g's. I know its not much but i got tired of everybody thinking otherwise :talon:
I think your confused. The 1G autos do have 390cc injectors, the 2G's have the same 450's in both the manual and autos.

LOL, I'm quoting the factory service manuals.

The 1G Turbo automatic fuel injectors are ND B390L. That's a 390cc low impedance injector.
The 2G Turbo injectors are all ND MDL450. Those are 450cc low impedance dual spray injectors.

I don't know how Sean made that error in the 1000Q but it wrong and if he had checked the manuals he's have the data for the rest. The 1G 2.0 NA uses ND N240H, the 1.8L uses ND N210H, the 2G 2.4L uses MDH275.

If you have a better reference than the factory manuals I'll gladly accept it.

Hmmmm, quite interesting. Wonder how he managed to do that. Good job pointing that out to me man :thumb: Guess thats why everyone said 390"s. Amazing :talon:

I sent him an email with the numbers and asking why the difference.
It's a great reference but errors do creep in. The factor service manual aren't always correct either, I've found several errors in them but I don't have all the TSB updates and corrections.
