While I was working on installing my pioneer head unit I for some reason took the 4 screws that are behind the faceplate out. Didnt realize you need those in to keep the faceplate on. Is there anything I can do short of buying a new head unit???

dude if you still have the receipt just bring it back and exchange it, if that doesn't work take it to a car audio place and see if they can fix, places where I'm at usually cost around 100 to fix complete cd players, other wise buy a new one.

Sorry I'm confused I don't understand what you are saying. How did taking the screws out damage the deck and why aren't you able to just put them back in?

they are 4 screws on the head unit itself and they aparently keep the mechanism to hod the faceplate on.

Do you no longer have those screws?
If not if you remember what they look like I am sure you can find something similar at a hardware or electronics store.

Yeah I still have those screws but i just picked up a replacement, didnt feel like dealing with it. so it ended up being a $150 mistake, ohh well.

So wait, you went and spend $150 for a new headunit, when all you had to do was screw 4 screws back in..?

unfortunetly yeah, had to i was not going to be able to put those little tiny ass screws back in. They rendered it useless and there was not going to be a way to put them back in. they held little tiny aparatus that allowed the faceplate to be held on and removing the screws caused the aparatus to fall into the HU itself.
