studder/hesitation over 20psi

ok, this is weird, from all the research i've done, most peoples hesitation problems are related to rpm, mine is on boost

At 20psi and less, I can go WOT no problem in all gears and it pulls good and hard, very little knock, a/f in the 10.8's and all that.

But when i turn it to 22-23psi, it hates it. It hesitates and studders VERY BADLY like its misfiring, knock goes through the roof(probably because of hte noise) and i have to let off, it just doesnt accelerate

I have 750s, 190 pump, t3/04b, dsmlink, supporting mods, fmic, etc....

It runs perfect at 20psi or less, anything over that, i cant even go wot or it just shits on itself

Whats the problem?

You could be blowing out the Spark, try lowering the gap a abit on your Plugs.

thats what i thought, so i lowered it to .24 and i think its working, i got it up to about 22-23psi....


its important cause tonight im racing an LS1, full bolt ons, cammed, tuned...6 speed, from 40mph


too bad even at 40mph i light the tires up, so its all about 3rd gear for me, hopefully I can catch up...im runnin c12 mix with some 91, meth/water injection, and about 22-23psi

I had the exact same problem with my car, it would only hesitate when I hit full boost, which is set at 18 psi. I changed my plugs and wires and it went away. Plugs are gapped to .028. Let us know how your run with that LS1 goes.

run went good, we're about even, it all depended on who got the jump, it was even better from 60mph

He makes a bit over 400whp....


On a sidenote, we ran into a clean 01 gt, all bolt ons, 125direct port nos setup, gears, 5speed.

Me and him went from 20mph roll(worthless) he didnt think to honk just smashed on it, i was like, WTF, so i smashed(him already 3 cars ahead) by end of 3rd gear, I was driving by him, by middle of 4th, i was like 2 cars ahead....it was great, he was amazed

he put 411whp.....not too shaby

and my car isnt even all that badass of a dsm....man, i wish we had more hardcore dsm's in central cali....

i want a GSX now, badly, 2.3 stroker, gt35...it would be a moneymaker

Are your dyno sheets up to date??

You must be a dam good driver to beat that LS1 with 100 whp on you.

didnt beat him, it was too close, we are pretty much damn even....

remember, he also weighs almost 3600lb, he dynoes right around 400whp

and my old 298whp dyno? ...that was on 18psi, pump gas, stock air box and a cat, with a very leaky bov adapter weld...

this run was on 22psi, race/pump gas, 3" intake, no cat, meth/water injection and new pipes....lets just say I should be making at least 350whp, wil dyno soon to try to win the bullseye challange

Also, that mustang had 411whp on the nitrous setup, and i passed him in 3rd gear


I'd like to get arp head studs and run about 25psi on race gas, i have no doubt that I should be able to take it above 400whp, and im still on stock cams!!!!!!!!
