Hoping someone can help me I own a 1992 Eagle Talon 2.0 N/A fwd auto. I had the car parked for about a year I tried to start driving it again and it's stuck in third gear limp mode I thought it was probably the TCU so I replaced that it was not the tcu so any ideas would be a great help

The speed sensor in the speedometer head has been a culprit for me as well as a set of pulse generators. What #is the TCU?

I have several AWD TCU's, but they are all MD750092's. Check the caps in the TCU's, that was also a problem with the one in my car when I got it. The man had just replaced them and she shifted fine for about 2 weeks then went into limp mode. The diagnostic was telling me it was the speed sensor. I finally switched the TCU out for a ForcedFour shift box (which I do love).

From the diagnostic port, but I can't remember how I got it to give me a code.
I am pretty sure this is what I did.

The shift box option allows me to "ignore" some codes like ECMLink allows us to and will also read any diagnostic codes for me.

When my 1st tcu went bad I had bought 2 more that also had bad caps... 3rd one was golden... but i too switched to shift box and you wont have to look back if you do
