When I start up my car it makes a loud noise like rocks shaking around in a can but when I push in the clutch the noise goes away. It also gets louder when I accelerate and most of the time it goes away when the car is warmed up. Also if this helps its sometimes hard to get in 1st gear, pops out of 5th and kind of grinds going in reverse....should I get another transmission? I was told its the throwout bearing

Get oem. The reason why is because the inner part of the throw out is plastic compared to some throw out that are metal. It will be easier on the input shaft since one of the weakest links in mitsubishi eclipse are tranny related and door handles. LOL
I guess when you press in the clutch the noise goes away. And when you let go the noise comes back?

Mine does that too. Its a diff clutch and a diff tranny. I really don't wanna pull it again.

mine does it too, its a throw out bearing.... im changing mine in a few weeks, but its been like that since i bought it, p.s. my door handle just broke too :)
