strange hissing noise from fuel pump area

I just installed a walbro 255 and I am hearing a wierd hissing noise coming from around the fuel pump area, this noise is only active while the car is ON. It doesn't hiss anytime after the car is off.
I think it might be from not torqueing *spelling* the assembly to the car, and that it is leaking from the gasket. Does anyone know the torque specs or know if this is a common problem and I should replace the gasket? there is no mitsu dealer here so it will be difficult for me to get such a gasket.
Another place I think it might be leaking from would be the vent line, because when i pinch the vent line the hissing subsides for a few seconds, and then returns.

did you rewire your fuel pump? you should if you upgraded from stock. stock wires will not supply enough voltage to the pump and that can be why you are getting that noise.

Its gonna be a little louder than the stock fuel pump. You'll know when its on. Stock pumps arent all that loud. But he's right, definitly do a re-wire, its worth it.

Thats your fuel pump actually working. Just in case pull off the rear seat and check for any gas spilling off the rubber fuel line and then check under the car for gas leakage. If everything's dry then thats your little motor doing what it does best, delivering fuel.

Mine is really loud too. I didnt think about re-wireing it though, and when i turn on my fans, or press my brakes, or turn on my turning signal my pump starts to make an unsteady hissing noise. Will all of that be gone if i rewire it?
