Hey so i've been working on this thing forever now and I still cant get it running right, I dont have any type of managment yet, and i can pull pretty hard on a WRX with the setup i have now but i think i may have a serious boost leak somewhere that i cant find!!!

i unplugged my TPS in order to avoid the random missfire BS till i get DSMLink but my car dies sometimes now and 1 and 2nd gear pull pretty hard but i hit third and its like all my boost is not going into the motor like im high revving and not pulling anymore LOL

I started the type this to DSMStoner because he right down the road from me but anyone willing to help me thats near here would be great! Come out, drive my beast and tell me your opinion. THANKS ALOT!!!
 
i live in frankfort....have you done a boostleak test? have you checked to see if the wastegate opens and closes properly?
 
i havent done a test but i feel it leaking LOL, or maybe im hitting fuel cut but im only running 10lbs on my 16g

Autolab put my car together basically from the ground up, i dont think i am having a wastegate problem.... BUT if my wastegate was set to 14lbs (or so) and my boost controller was set to like 10lbs what would that do?

Frankfort might be too long for you to drive up here but I have cousins down there i might be able to roll down LOL
 
since you have a MBC it could be possibly spiking causing premature wastegate opening. Thas probably not the case, just throwing it out as a possiblity. If you wastegate isnt closing all the way/prematurely blowing open, its going to feel as if you car is going nowhere when your giving it all youve got. Im guessing your on the stock fiel system still? If so fuel cut could be a possibility, but your car would "hiccup" and boost alone wouldnt be affected. I would try a leakdown test again just to elminate any chances of possible boost leak. Just listen real close for hissing, ive done boost leak tests 3 or 4 times in a row and still find new spots :) Yea, frankfort is a way off, but i wander up there for the DSM meets....please excuse any typos if there are any, im sobering up from a party and havent been asleep since 9PM last night :shhh:
 
If your holding boost fine but it feels like your not going anywhere, then alot of your timing is probably getting pulled. Probably from running to lean or a big boost leak. As for the mbc at 10 and the WG spring at 14, The lowest amount of boost you can run is the size of the WG spring
 
Do a boost leak test and get your engine management sorted out. I wouldn't even be driving it without somekind of engine management. :nono:

but im ordering DSMlink real soon (like a couple of days when i get paid), even though im on stock smic and injectors..

Well my mechanic told me the WG spring is 14lbs... i have a manual boost controller and my boost only hits 10lbs on my gauge(<<whats that about??), 3rd gear is definatly lame right now and id bet once i get this figured out the other gears will pull WAYYY harder too ;)
 
I'd say you have a pretty big boost leak. Check all your intercooler pipes and couplers.

Autolab is the shit.
 
yea i mean its stock for the evoIII b16g, i just need some help testing it i guess.

I dont understand though, 1st and 2nd gear pulls really super hard at 10lbs holding fine, i hit 3rd and im still holding 10lbs on my gauge but its like definatly not right. WTF
