i was offered some tein s. techs for a very reasonable price. the offer is hard to pass up, but that would be the only upgraded component. would putting these springs on ruin my ride quality, help it, or hurt my other stock components such as the shocks. i can't afford tokico illumina shocks, so im wondering whether it would be worth it?

Hey I recommend getting after market shocks for any lowering spring and Im sure many other will say the same.

How much is a great deal? You could make it an investment, depending on your ability to have the money tied up in the springs untill they sell at your asking price.

Or get them at the great price and save for some shocks! goodluck

Your shocks will be OK for a while, but they will wear faster. So if you can't afford upgrading now, know that you'll have to replace/upgrade them sooner. Mine were worn after about a year, but I have different springs.

Can't you just buy them, wait till you save up for struts then install it at one time? Your not buying ebay knock-off tein springs, right?

If you get more spring, you need more shock to compensate. If anything, getting better shocks would be the better idea, if you're interested in improving handling. Lowering springs on their own... well. If you're just going for a show car, it won't hurt much.

Expect the ride and handling to suck until you get better shocks.
Especially with Teins... eventually, you'll learn that going for the cheap, sh*t parts will only result in re-buying the right parts, and wasting the previously-spent money. Or pawning it off on someone else who doesn't know any better.

(Every Tein equipped car I've ridden in so far has been unstable and unreliable under heavy cornering... maybe they're fine for drag, but if you like driving in anything other than a straight line, I'd suggest a set of Eibach springs with KYB AGXes for about the same price.)

a) i don't buy shitty parts, they are the real s tech's. yes i could wait, i was just wondering if it would cause damage since i have no experience with suspension. i don't really care about cornering, dsm's are pretty much made for a straight line. i will probably get them and wait to put them on, thanks for the help

Tell Greg Collier that. Or any of the numerous road racers on this board. You'd be surprised how capable these cars are.
