I :dsm: have aerospeed coilovers on my 98 eclipse rs right now and the ride is terrible. Could anybody tell me if the KYB AGX Adjustable shocks and the Tein S-tech springs would be a good combination and how the ride would be?

AGX's for 2G's are a complete waste of money, at least on the rear. They ride poorly, can't deal with increased rate springs (and probably stockers too) for more than a year or two before spewing shock oil all over your spindles and wheel, and KYB rips up your warranty if you coil-over them.

If I'm not mistaken Tein S-Tech's are a lot stiffer than stock, so expect all this and more. Get some Konis.

They aren't a higher rate than stock, they're actually a smidge lower. I've had good experiences with agx's on a 1g, but that was with stock ride height and springs. They'll be lower, but as far as being whats better that no one can say for sure. Get them if you want them, if not there are more choices. Koni yellows and Tokico illuminas are out there. Go with what you want. Usually what tire rack sells, are pretty good. And I believe they sell koni yellows still for our cars.

i got the S-techs on my 2g with stock shocks and the ride is actually really good. after the springs settled it went a little lower then 1.5 inches, but didnt compromise the ride hardly any at all. I wouldnt know what to tell you on what shocks to get but if your thinkin about gettin the S-techs they are a good choice, you shouldnt be dissapointed.

Thanks for the correction; I was thinking of Tein Basics: 504# and 336# rates. Nonetheless, my 2G 250# rears blew out both AGX's in under a couple years of fairly light driving. Not recommended.

Does anybody know if the Tokico Illuminas and the Eiback Pro Kit is a good combination For 2nd generation eclipse?

I have the KYB AGX shocks with my stock springs and the ride is pretty rough. I don't know much about spring rates or what the numbers mean, but I can tell you that the combo of AGX's and stock springs = crap. The ride is really stiff and now that its getting warmer here in MN, the roads are getting really bumpy from the frost rising, and when I go around corners on the highway, I can feel the rear of the car jump over, its really annoying.

Anyways, is there a good spring that I could use with the AGX shocks? I don't want to sell them and get different shocks, just maybe better springs. Any help, not critisism for buying kyb's, would be very much appreciated.

Thank You
