I promise i looked before i posted. Im sure there are many threads on this issue so please bear with me. I'm looking to build myself a reliable everyday driver that will net 380 hp. I've become interested in Evo 8 parts and wanted to know if they will work. Basically I'd like to make a Sticky on Interchangeability thread on 4g63 parts. If someone could help it'd be appreciated. For example listing crank main journal and rod journals. Rod big end and small end sizes. Rod length. Piston diameter and skirt length (if possible). Stock intake manifolds, such as cyclone and the evo, listing real gains not just what you heard but real experiance would help. I come from a chevy background where you can interchange just about anything. This is one thing that has attracted my attention to the 4g63 is its interchangeability of stock parts. Just for kicks this is what i was thinking of building. 4g63 tubo. Stock crank, evo rotating assembly (if it will work due to the antifriction coating on the skirts and other benefits of a higher output engine). Evo 8 intake due to the 3in inlet and bigger shorter runners. I'm not much of a morning person so im not too enthused ;). Any points into the right direction would be helpful such as a book or link to such information. thanks

Start with the basics, Intake and exhaust...
Do you plan on boosting it? I know there are threads on here about boosting N/T dsms.

actually im going to perform the dreaded turbo swap into a non-turbo car. Unlike most people who attempt this tho, i'm a professional technician with almost 8 years experience. So what im doing is planning on buying a good 4g63 core to rebuild. Wether it be a n/a or turbo core won't bother me. i'm hoping though to find a rearended turbo car to be able to swap parts from.

Oh i most definately will. They guy that i may buy evo parts from said the pistons are 85mm. same as mine. He's going to measure the rod ends and let me know what they are. This could be some cheap trick parts for us who want more than the stock 1g and 2g has to offer at a decent price :).
