what does it mean if my stock oil pressure guage is all the way up to the right? i dont think it is working but is just stuck or something because i dont have too much oil or anything it is just about right on. how can i fix this problem. i will be installing and autometer oil pressure guage soon but i would like this one to work until then.

try looking at the oil filter housing (where the pressure sensors are located) and verify the single wire clip is not sorted to a ground. Then unplug the clip and see if the gauge goes down. Most likely your pressure sender is just toast. The stock pressure senders a terrible anyways

remove connector from oil pressure sending unit, do a resistance test. If your wire is ok its time for a new sending unit. if that doesnt fix the problem your having seriouse oil pressure problems and its time to do some seriouse work.

ya im pretty sure it stays to the right all the time. the guy that had the car before me has almost all the wires just jimmied together so i gotta go thru and fix everything so i dont fry the whole car. if it is the sending unit do you think i could just pick one up from auto zone or something

If it is the sending unit, don't even bother replacing it with another stocker, its not worth it...go out and buy an aftermarket gauge and sender. It'll be way more accurate and is probably not too much more for the entire gauge/sender then a replacement OEM sending unit.
