stock oil/boost gauge delete question.

hey. i installed some indiglo gauges and i dont like my stock boost/oil gauge since i have aftermarket of each of these on my apiller, so i just put a piece of tape over the needles, and covered the circle with a black piece of paper. my question is has anyone ever done this before, or does anyone know if it will cause any problems with my other gauges if i burn out this gauge since i taped the needles down?

it wont hurt nuttin --- ya could just remove the gauge totaly if ya wanted to
