question about Stock 1G boost gauge

today when i was driving my dsm,i looked at my stock boost gauge and it doesn't go up at all,my autometer boost gauge work,but the stock one not!!!
What could be a problem??

i wouldn't worry about the stock boost guage... you're not gonna be using it for anything anyway and it's not accurate.

and yes, it does move on a 1g when you turn the car on.

I need to know what is wrong with it?? why doesn't go up???

and yes i checked it comes up when i start my engine,but when i'm boosting its not going up WTF

honestly if ur boosting fine, i wouldnt worry about it. but to check it i believe u need some kind of tuning device. someone else please add to this.

maybe if you told us what your using it for, we could tell you some other options, since theres no way in hell any of us can have the foresight to tell you whats wrong with your car electrically.... if something that uses electricity doesnt work, there are about a million things that could have gone wrong, so dont ask us expecting an exact specific answer.... and there is almost no reason whatsoever to have the stock 1g boost gauge because of how inaccurate it is.... its about as accurate as if you just guessed what your car was boosting at just by what gear your in, how much gas your giving it, and what rpm your at....

Check your vaccum lines where your boost line is tapped into, if one of the lines around there comes off, i know the stock gauge won't work, at least it did on my car, actually, its the line that goes right into the stock FPR, if that comes off, your stock gauge won't work, check that first.

Isn't the stock gauge determined by the ECU? That's why nobody follows it, it is a calculation, not actually reading. So by this not working, it could be something wrong with your ECU, but this is worst case scenario.

The factory Boost Gauge does not actually measure Boost - it merely estimates the what it "thinks" the current boost is based upon calculations involving air temperature and MAS data. Installing a "real" boost gauge is especially important once boost pressures exceed the values the stock gauge records.

The way I would determine it would be to get a datalogger, like pocketlogger. You can get these off Ebay for like 70 dollars, and that will show you a lot of MAS data, which will tell you if that is working correctly or not.
