Stock Fuel Pump?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Do you have a stock fuel pressure regulator? Usually aftermarket fuel pumps will overrun stock fpr's causing rich conditions. An aftermarket fuel pump like the walbro 255 is much louder than stock. You should be able to hear a noticable whine if it is larger than factory.

Have you physically looked at your current fuel pump yet?

Stock 2g fuel pump is part number Denso 195130-2760:

Well my question is why would you want to know this.

And I just edited my comment due to seeing the post above me :p

Look at that.

You still have to physically see your pump.

well... when i bought my car I didn't know anything about dsm's. I saved the ad from craigslist about my car and I just looked at it before. I know its not entirely truthful because it says I have a 16g, when I know for a fact I have a 14b. it also says an evo fuel pump. The reason I ask is because I know I have a stock fpr, and I am very rich under boost. My wideband buries the needle at 10.0 if Im at any more than ~75% throttle and mid to high rpms. 9!'clipseDOHC, Thanks for the pictures, Ill go look at it now (which is what I should have done in the first place before asking!) Any other thoughts about the me being rich under boost I would really appreciate

Also, how do I remove my fuel pump to check the serial number... LOL

Remove the rear seat, and the rest should be self explainable. Check out vfaq.com.

If it is running rich under boost you need a tune. If the pump is overrunning the regulator you would run rich during idle and cruise conditions. Anything in boost needs to be tuned for.

So I found out that I do have the evo 9 fuel pump. It's not supposed to over run the stock fuel pressure. Would a bad fpr cause it to be rich under boost? I also idle around 1200 rpm with the biss screw all the way in so could that cause that too?

It idles just fine as far as A/F ratio. and I know I need a tune really bad... just need some cash!

I'm actually considering adding some e85 because that would make up for being rich under boost. I just don't want to affect normal cruising conditions. I think the oxygen sensors can make up for a 20% change in air fuel ratio before it goes into limp mode. Correct?

My gsx idles around there sometimes with my biss screww all the way down. Have you done a compression test?

WELL my compression test results were really low :( 120 on all 4 cylinders, so for me that explains alot of things in my situation. I've noticed that if you can perform the test or check, alot of questions or what ifs can be eliminated.
