Trying to straiten out some idling issues on my talon. It is idling a little high at 1500 RPM and has a surge when it warms up. I have too codes P0443 and P0505. I realize that they are a part of the problem. The kid I bought it off, I think was messing with the BISS and has it way away from where it should be. Now could someone give me a rough ballpark of where the screw should be so I could eliminate on cause of the erattic idle. Any help is appreciated!

You'll need a logger to monitor ISC position. It should be 32 at hot idle, no a/c, no fans. You should test your ISC motor. It's probably the cause of your problems. It should have 28-32ohm's resistance on all 4 coils, testing pins 1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 5-6. Unplug it and remove the 2 8mm bolts that hold it in, making sure that you don't loose the o-ring that seals it. It's best to test at room temp off the car. If that's not your problem, I'd look for vacuum/boost leaks.

You will need a logger, ISC stepcount ~30 is right on the money for proper idle. I remember some people saying just screw it all the way down then back it out 2-3 turns, but when I tried it it didn't work, the ISC was still maxed out.

The other issue I noticed is that my evap canister has an open inlet/outlet. Its mark as air. I believe its suppost to be the vent for the fuel tank. The reason this caught my attention is after driving for a few mins and loosening the gas cap I get a rush of air that comes out. So the fuel system apparently isnt venting. I plan tomorrow morning to start checking the routing and replace all my vacum lines. Also I want to trace the vent line from the tank and try to find where its blocked and get it hooked back up to the carbon canister. Any sugestions/things to look for?
