My 97 gst still misses and or bucks under a load around 4000-5000 rpm , has anybody had the same problem?
I replaced the folowing, crank sensor, cam sensor, fuel fliter, thrust bearings, rebuilt fuel -injectors, and replaced the blowoff valve too ,and performed boost leak and found air leaking around the throttle body gaskets..that was repaired too set the plug gap to your recomended settings..could it be the ECU or coil pak or is it the rev limter...also after having the injetors rebuilt, the car has a hard time starting when warm about 6 revolutions to start...It's a awesome car but I'm running out of money and paitence...please help this dsmer...

Note: this car is compleatly stock...no mods

I have the same problem, the car hesistates under hard acceleration. I have the right plugs and cap. I am just wondering how long do plug wires usually last. I put some 8.5mm wires in 3 years ago, is it time for new ones??

Well let me tell you ,you people have be very fortunate that you don't own my car because if you did you would be pulling your hair out of your head!!! I have done everything to this darn car I possible could ....this has been the biggest pain in my but a few more ideas to go....then I either put up with it or it goes on the auction block never to be seen again....and it will be the last mitsu I'll ever own...

WAAAAAAA

I'm gonna sell it cause I'm a No-experience mechanic.

Get out there with a flashlight, pull the plugs and tell me what the gap is!!

I have a feeler gauge as a damn key-ring.

Mes thinking your NA Honda material.

it's at .028...it's what NGK set the plugs at from the factory...you know their twin spark plugs right?..other than that, new coils ,new ngk blue wires....if it's Ing realated then why can't mitsu do something about it? would it have anything to do with crankwalk??? I had the thrust bearings replace around 20,000 mile ago it now has 105,000 on it now,I hope your a mitsu mechanic...beside I took it to a dyno tune shop and they can't even tell me what's wrong with it??? hell I give someone a hundred dollars if they can tell me WTF is wrong with this car! I promise a 100.00 bill...anyone up for the challenge???

id say replace ur spark plugs...10 bucks...get cheap wires (that are new)... 30 bucks...check n see if its good...thats exactly what i did...my shits golden right now....i got it done a few hours b4 i went to the track that i had been plannin for a week to go to....if that doesnt help ur problem then id say it might be fuel related....maybe ur injectors need cleaning...dumping too much or too little fuel in...maybe u have a boost leak...loosen ur clamps on ur hoses....pull the cuplers closer and retighten ur clamps...if none of those solve ur problem than sell ur car....but i guarantee its one of those things unless your hearing noises...like maybe a bad turbo?...but im pretty sure its ignition if its a miss under load....i shocked myself when i found out that it was the wires....right when my guage said 1 psi it would bog...i went from thinkin it was a blown turbo to thinkin it was a boost leak....to a clogged cat....to finding out it was a sparkplug wire problem....cars are crazy but if its not one of those problems i listed sell ur car :thumb:

3. Why are you using twin electrode spark plugs? why....
4. Have you ensured the spark plugs are tight enough? yes/no
5. Have you ever run your car below 1/8th tank of fuel? yes/no
6. Has your fuel pump ever been replaced....EVER? yes/no
7. Are your injector/manifold injector nozzle O-rings freshly new or re-used? new/reused
8. Are the injectors in you car 2G 450s ?(black top) yes/no

Once we get these questions answered I can see where the status is on what you have really done to chase this misfire.

Its hard to tell by your description exactly where our problem is.

I am awake....its past midnight here but reply, I want to help you.

I am in the exact same boat. New plugs, wires, air filter, vacuum leak tested, coil pack, had injectors checked. I am also very interested in where this goes. I am a newb to mistu. Had a civic before. Please help us. Only thing is the new coil pack is turning brown on cylinder 4. Before it was burnt up. Hole in it.
