OK so here is the plan, 97 gsx with 110k miles. Suspention is still all factory orginal. So its old and leaky and slopy. This car is not doing auto-x just puting around town then the weekends at the 1/4 mile track. When i launch as imagined it sags down and i imagine that is a loss of energy.

Will just replaceing the struts with better ones will that elimante the "mushyness"?

Im always thought it would have to do with the springs and spring rate. I DONT want to lowwer it unless that is my only option.

I was looking at STM and found interseted in the Tokco Illumina (adjustable) they are $230 a pair so that is right around ### i want to spend.

Im with ya on the not lowering springs man.LET THE BODY CLEARANCE TREND BEGIN LOL! I kept the stock springs and used agx's which helped stiffen things up depending where they are set. Also when summer comes back i plan to use a taller sidewall tire to take up some of the wheel well gap. Im also interested if anyone knows of a nice spring that does not drop the car.

My 1g is stock ride height, I bought adjustable kyb agx, but used the stock strut mounts and springs. I lowered the adjustments slightly and found it gave my springs a little quicker rebound. I also put in a bunch of energy suspension poly bushings, front and rear arms and stab. bars, engine mounts. Its for sure a lot stiffer takes off the line nicer, and in the winter I just heighten the adjustments and I can take these edmonton roads.

If you're "launching" it then you'll want to keep the softer springs as they will help limit loss of traction.

If you ever noticed, a lot of RWD and AWD drag race cars will use a softer spring in the rear to help transfer the weight and plant the rear.

I'm curious as to why you don't want a lower stance to your car.

Because when u lowwer it u then have to mess to get the camber in and you will also wear through tierods, ball joints, and ect. quiker. It is also a pain to put it on a lift. I live in the sticks so there are ruts and gullys that i scrape now at stock hight.

Sorry Im not for the look.

Function over Fashion. Im not auto-xing it so i dont realy need to lower the CG
