Sticky clutch

So I just got my 90 laser rs turbo running after it sat for 8 years. I know I need to change all the fluids but I was just wondering if broken down old brake fluid in the master cylinder could cause my clutch to stick and make it have that "hitting metal" feeling in it while shifting? I've only put 1000 miles on the car and the first 500 the clutch felt great and didn't feel like this. I just put pennzoil synromesh in the tranny. Could the old brake fluid cause this? If so, where is the best place to drain all the fluid out of my master cylinder? Thanks guys.

It's likey that either your master cylinder or slave cylinder is leaking after sitting that long without being used. Check near your pedels, and see if there is any brake fluid on the carpet. You should probably replace them anyways.

You can flush the system of the old fluid by removing as much as possible from the cylinder, filling it with fresh fluid, then bleed the clutch until you get new fluid out the bleeder.

With a car sitting that long without running, your sticky clutch could be many things. Cars simply don't like sitting that long. Parts will dry out and leak, rot, and rust. Try the easier stuff first, and if that doesn't work, then you'll have to look into your issue a little deeper. But yes, refill all your fluids, flush everything, bleed what you can, and see if it improves.

Sure that's what I was asking. But HOW do I bleed the clutch? That's what I was wanting to know. Where is that done at?

You can look it up in the How to section. You bleed them at the slave cylinder, where it bolts on the the transmission. It is located on the front of the tranny towards the front bumper. there is a nipple with a nut around it. you loosen the nut and have someone pump the clutch. pumping the clutch just gets it out faster. If you don't know how to bleed the clutch then you might want to pay someone to do it.

Found via clicking on "Tech Guide," and going to "How to bleed a clutch." Couldn't be much simplier than that. Or, your answer could be found via searching. The guide is pretty comprehensive, so I don't think you'll have any issues!
