Sticky Clutch Pedal and Clutch Not Holding

Well my car had an idle problem a few weeks ago and I got a new ISC and all is good. Also I just put on my new HKS cat back. I was so excited to go out for some fast (and now loud) driving.:D So about a day after I got all the stuff fixed I started having problems with the Clutch. At first it would drive fine but every once and a while my clutch pedal would stick about half way up for like half a second then pop up to the top again. Then my clutch started slipping and the pedal stuck half way up for over a second and now it does this constantly now and my clutch can’t hold much power. The RPM’s go up but the car doesn’t go much faster. If it was just my clutch slipping I would get just a new clutch right away but since the pedal is acting funny I’m thinking maybe its just my master cylinder or slave cylinder. Also I heard that a lot of clutch problems can be attributed to Crankwalk:barf: and since my car has about 130,000 miles on it I’m going to test endplay to rule it out. Let me know what you think the problem might be because I want to be sure what it is before I drop the tranny out because its starting to get really cold in Minnesota and I don’t have a garage!OMG
 
Sounds like you covered your bases. I'd bet on the master/slave cylinder, if it was the clutch i would think you couldnt get it into gear.Also the Master/Slave would be the cheapest fix, so lets hope its just that. ;)
 
Look underneath your dashboard; driver side.

Follow the clutch pedal where it eventually meets up with the master cylinder.

Look around that area for brake fluid. Of course all interior parts of the cabin should be dry. If it is wet on your carpet or anywhere around there, it is probably brake fluid from a master cylinder that has gone on permanent vacation. Verify this.

I'm sure you can figure it out what to do if that is the case. . . . if not, then the answer is . . .


replace your master cylinder.
 
Yeah i hope it is just the Master cylinder. But the master cylinder doesn't make the clutch slip does it? if you have a bad master cylinder wouldn't it be hard to get the clutch to disengage?
