After searching google and here, i can't find what im looking for. Its simple question, and im sure a simple answer, but i need Facts before i go buy a $250 new deck for my talon.

I have a pioneer DEH-7700MP deck in there now, great and all that jaz but the wife wants it for her new found GST i bought her that im rebuilding.. anywho

I want to get the Kenwood KDC-X994 BUT as crutchfield said about my 7700mp deck , it doest fit.

now my question is, why?

7700mp deck specs are W 178mm H 50mm D 157mm (we all know its a cave for the depth in our 2gs.

X994 is W 182 H 53 D 158 . I just cant see that 4mm wide and 3mm hight is causing them to say "it doesn't fit, i went round and round with them about the pioneer deck, and now even tho its a few years old, they say it fits now. Any ways it should fit right? I feel :tease: :ohdamn: for asking, just don't want to get it and find out it really doesn't LOL

I'm no "stereo guru" as you put it but in 1st grade I was taught how to use a ruler. You've got the dimensions in front of you, pull out the old ruler and see if it will fit or not...

:dsm:

It will fit just fine. It's just a standard single din radio. The only issue you might have is making the trim ring fit, but that's really not a big deal.

yeah, i have to install my ecu and when i do im going to see what the size of the adapter i have that the 7700 is in, and go from there. but thanks.:thumb:

yeah, its a DIN, and a nice deck. From what i seen looking at mine the way its installed, I dont have it all the way in (so to speak) as to the kit i got from crutchfield for the deck, i have it out so i can snap the outer trim plate around and makes it look "flush". Im going to go ahead and order it and if it doest fit, there is away to make it fit LOL. I need fix the harness anyways, as the person before me tapped into the stereo harness for power for gauges.... tisk tisk.
