step up the stutter to 5000-5500 with cracked axel boot?

my boot on the front right side is leaking axle greese so obviously it needs replacing, but in the meen time would it be a destructive move to step up the stutter box from 4500 to 5000 or 5500?

You need to replace that CV boot ASAP. If any dirt gets in there, then you'll have to replace the CV joint. Save the money for another mod down the road. There's a vfaq on how to do it.
