static noise under hood when car is on

I'm hearing this weird noise underneath the hood of the car in the engine bay. Almost sounds like a cross between static and bubbling coolant. Only happens when the car is in the on position. Anyone have a clue?

have you popped the hood open to pinpoint where this sound is coming from ... be my first thing to check when you hear something odd.....

probably your isc freaking out.

I've tried honestly, can't pin point it exactly, but it sounds like its either near the throttle body somewhere or underneath the intake manifold

Could be low coolant in the system causing the gurgling sound in the FIAV.

I get that from time to time and sure enough..coolant level is a bit low.

Is it continious or no? If not could be your starter I've heard noises like that before.

Its your isc, thats why it only happens when your key is in the "on position", stop ignoring peoples post and start testing things.

Can't believe no-one has suggested this yet but try to unplug the isc and see if it goes away. Simple process of elimination

yeah im sure thats gonna gonna happen with the engine not running and the key in the "on" position.

but try to unplug the isc

just make certain that the plug doesn't touch any ground when you turn on the key, otherwise, it'll blow the IAC drivers in the ECU..
