I have the turbo 4g63 and just finished the rebuild and i started the car up and got it to run. Now it runs good and all after i uped the fuel pressure a little and messed with the c.a.s.. But i have a problem where it wants to die. I can save it by getting to the throttle quick enough but if not it dies. It starts right up and runs for a few more minutes.

I got it to warm up and it died say 4 times. I would like to figure this out. Timing was spot on when checked last. I have no cat to check as all i am running is a 3 inch down pipe.

Thanks

Cat shouldnt matter, do boost leak test, check your compression new build check it anyway takes a short time, check fuel pump relay, check ecu open it up and inspect it.

I took the Ecu apart before the build to check it. I know the fuel pump running and i do have a 255lph to install. Ill do a compression test sometime in the morning. I have lost daylight and with it its warmth so im down for a beer or 2 now.

My turbo wastegate flapper doesnt seem to sit tight maybe that affects it some?

if it is a new rebuild, engine will run rough at idle and die some times for the first 300 to 400 miles until everything finds its groove

Yea it actually hasn't died but maybe 2 times since then. I'm at 50 miles and it seems to be getting smoother. Still vibrates alot since i removed the balance shafts. But now i have a oil leak off the turbo feed line. I Bought a restricter that pin holes the oil into the turbo but it leaks badly where it connects to the ss line. Thats my new problem atm.
